The Saudi Contractors Authority held a virtual event on Tuesday, May 12, to mark World Facilities Management Day. The event focused on environmental sustainability through facilities management.
It was organized with the National Program to Support Project and Facilities Management in Public Entities (Mashroat), the National Training Center for Facilities and Hospitality Management (FHM), the Facilities Management Association in Healthcare (FMSA), and Takamul Al Oula Facilities Management.
The main panel explored environmental sustainability from a facilities management perspective. Eng. Ahmad Al-Qarni discussed government support for sustainability, while Mohammed Al-Khayyat presented relevant practices and his organization's experience.
Dr. Talal Al-Huraigi discussed sustainability in managing buildings and facilities. Eng. Hani Al-Dhuwaiyan addressed its application in healthcare facilities. Nasser Al-Hajri, SCA's Head of Sector Services, moderated the session.
Three workshops followed. Ahmad Al-Ghareeb of FHM and Faisal Al-Ghadouni of SCA presented a workshop on sustainable prevention practices in facilities.
Eng. Mohammed Al-Dhuwaiyan of Al-Dhuwaiyan Holding and Eng. Ahmad Al-Huwaidi of SCA discussed efficiency and effectiveness in healthcare facilities management.
Eng. Mohammed Alwan of Takamul Al Oula and Turki Al-Saeed of SCA presented a workshop on sustaining facilities management during crises.
More than 1,000 people registered. SCA issued attendance certificates after the event.
