Why Builders Should Use Standard Contracts

The Saudi Contractors Authority urged citizens planning construction work and contractors to use electronic standard contracts. They document contractual relationships, protect rights, reduce disputes and help prevent stalled projects.

SCA said it had received complaints from project owners and contractors about disagreements during construction. Its free Muqawil service allows citizens to contract with SCA-registered contractors using templates that cover key legal, technical and special conditions.

The contracts aim to improve delivery quality, ensure compliance with specifications and agreed materials, support timely completion and provide mechanisms for resolving disputes.
