Steel Requirements and Applications Workshop

The Saudi Contractors Authority and SABIC held a workshop on steel requirements and applications in construction on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at SABIC's Home of Innovation.

SCA presented licensing and contractor approval procedures and the services available through its Membership Benefits program. The Saudi Building Code National Committee gave a detailed presentation on the building code.

The Ministry of Housing's Building Technology Stimulus Initiative outlined planned projects using modern construction methods and related opportunities for contractors.

SABIC Hadeed presented steel manufacturing methods, quality requirements for different applications, and an overview of the local steel market.

The workshop concluded with a visit to a Ministry of Housing project in Al-Uyaynah, where participants viewed villas built using several construction technologies.
