SCA Launches Second Edition of Contracting Sector Excellence Awards in Saudi Arabia for 2022

The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) launched the second edition of the Contracting Sector Excellence Awards for 2022. Registration was open until September 30, 2022, through the Contracting Sector Excellence Awards website.

Through 11 awards, the initiative aims to support the contracting sector’s growth, develop local talent, and encourage competition in creativity and innovation by recognizing and supporting outstanding individuals and organizations in construction.

The second edition includes the following award categories:

• Best Construction Contractor.
• Best Mining Services Contractor.
• Best Building Services and Landscaping Contractor.
• Best Waste Collection, Treatment and Disposal Contractor.
• Best Project.
• Best Consultancy Firm.
• Best Factory.
• Best Innovation.
• Best Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
• Best Male Leader.
• Best Female Leader.

SCA also introduced three separate awards to encourage contractors to use its services, support the sector’s organization and develop its workforce:

• Model Contracts Award.
• Academy Programs Award.
• Advisory Services Award.

SCA Chairman Eng. Zakaria Al-Abdulqader said: “This initiative, like all the Authority’s initiatives, underscores the vital role that contracting plays in development as the Kingdom’s second-largest non-oil sector, contributing to the fulfillment of Saudi Vision 2030.”

The Saudi Contractors Authority was established under Council of Ministers Resolution No. 510 to develop the contracting sector. It provides a range of electronic services that support the sector and its workforce.
