The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) held a ceremony at the
Asharqia Chamber to honor trainees of the second edition of the National Talent
Development Program for Entry into the Contracting Sector. The ceremony was
attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Saudi Contractors Authority;
Mr. Hamad Al-Hammad, Chairman of the National Contractors Committee; and Mr.
Abdulmajeed Al-Rashoudi, Secretary-General of the Authority.
The program forms part of the Authority’s efforts to enable
national talent to enter this vital sector by providing participants with a
clear roadmap into the contracting labor market. It offers a comprehensive
overview of available opportunities, the requirements for conducting business
activities, and ways to address the challenges contractors may encounter.
The program focuses on developing services and products, as
well as entrepreneurship strategies that help improve business performance and
service delivery in accordance with international best practices. It also
covers the procedures and steps involved in establishing a business, along with
the fundamentals of financial management, marketing, and investment in human
capital.
The program consists of three main stages. It begins with
foundational courses aimed at developing essential skills in project
management, marketing, and occupational safety. This is followed by specialized
field training under the supervision of industry experts across various
disciplines, including structural construction, finishing works, and
electromechanical works. The final stage consists of advanced courses focusing
on professional project management, planning, and cost management.
The program forms part of the
Saudi Contractors Authority’s efforts to strengthen the role of national talent
in the contracting sector and support localization initiatives by providing
training opportunities that equip participants with the skills required to
pursue high-quality employment opportunities in the industry.
