The Saudi Contractors Authority represented the Kingdom's contracting sector as guest of honor at Builders of Egypt 2023 in Cairo. The event was held under the patronage of Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and attended by ministers from African and Arab countries.

The delegation was led by SCA Chairman Eng. Zakaria Al-Abdulqader, who also chairs the Federation of Contractors from Islamic Countries. It included Deputy Chairman Asim bin Butti Al-Otaibi, Board Member Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, and Secretary-General Abdulmajid Al-Rashoudi.

The forum honored SCA and explored how construction and related industries in Arab and African countries can support countries that need infrastructure development. It also examined ways to strengthen national companies and help them benefit from investment, with project-financing organizations in attendance.

Al-Abdulqader thanked Eng. Hassan Abdelaziz, President of the African Federation for Construction Contractors' Associations, for choosing SCA as guest of honor.

He said SCA's leadership of the revived Federation of Contractors from Islamic Countries supports its work to develop contracting, reveal investment opportunities and support Saudi and foreign contractors in the Kingdom. The Federation was revived with participation from 26 Islamic countries to help their construction companies access projects in member states.

A panel chaired by Al-Abdulqader explored future Saudi projects and opportunities for partnerships and exports. SCA specialists and Ministry of Investment representative Fahad Al-Hashem discussed opportunities in housing, education, energy, health, transport, communications, tourism, entertainment and water.

Participants also reviewed support for exporting construction services and building materials to Arab and Islamic markets, increasing participation in Saudi projects, and facilitating business agreements.

SCA works to regulate and develop contracting, build productive capabilities, encourage innovation and strengthen communication. It also seeks a safe environment for project owners, contractors and other industry participants.
