The Saudi Contractors Authority concluded the fifth Future Projects Forum in Riyadh today. More than 3,000 contractors and other participants from 16 countries attended. A total of 43 public- and private-sector organizations presented over 3,000 future projects valued at an estimated SAR 1 trillion.
During the forum, SCA launched the SCAVO platform to help contractors and other users search for and track construction projects in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
SCA Chairman Eng. Zakaria Al-Abdulqader thanked the Kingdom's leadership for supporting contracting, its second-largest non-oil sector, amid economic progress and the journey toward Saudi Vision 2030.
He said the value and diversity of the projects, together with the gathering of stakeholders, reflected the forum's main purpose: developing contracting as an enabler of the Vision and supporting a sustainable national economy.
International participants represented 25% of attendance, with visitors from Russia, the United States, European countries and GCC states.
SCA signed agreements and memoranda with the Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority, National Housing Company, Maharat Construction Training Center, Ta3meed, Penny, and Ventures Middle East.
These agreements support project quality, workforce skills, Saudi employment, project tracking and access to sector data. Private and nonprofit organizations also signed agreements during the event.
