The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) announced the second edition of the Future Projects Forum in Riyadh, scheduled for February 25–26, 2020, corresponding to 1–2 Rajab 1441 AH.

The Forum is the Kingdom’s largest gathering for the contracting sector. Its second edition will bring together 35 public- and private-sector entities to present more than 850 projects with an estimated value exceeding SAR 600 billion, most of which support Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives and objectives.

The Forum was announced at a press conference held today, Wednesday, in Riyadh, attended by participating project owners and sponsors.

The Future Projects Forum is an SCA initiative that enables contractors, investors, suppliers, developers, banks, insurance companies, research and consultancy centers, and other interested parties to explore future projects and investment opportunities.

Participating entities represent a range of strategic sectors, including oil, industry, tourism, entertainment, transportation, housing, infrastructure and mining.

SCA Secretary-General Eng. Thabet bin Mubarak Al-Suwaid explained that the Forum provides a platform for project owners to present their projects and promote transparency and competitiveness. It also helps supporting organizations understand the direction of upcoming projects.

He added that bringing projects from multiple organizations together in one place enables contractors and investors to prepare their future business plans.

The Forum allows participants to meet project owners and learn about requirements, registration procedures and qualifications, as well as project schedules, estimated costs, and qualification and bidding processes.

It also helps build relationships between project owners, contractors and industry stakeholders, while creating opportunities for partnerships among contractors themselves.

SCA invited contractors, investors and other interested participants to register through the Future Projects Forum website.

The inaugural edition, held in 2019, achieved a participant satisfaction rate of 91%, encouraging greater interest in the second edition.

The number of participating public- and private-sector entities increased from 23 to 35, while the total value of the projects presented rose from approximately SAR 450 billion to more than SAR 600 billion. Around 2,000 contractors and industry stakeholders are expected to attend.
