The Saudi Contractors Authority opened the fourth International Contracting Conference yesterday at Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center. Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail attended as patron.
The conference runs on February 26–27, 2024, alongside Big 5 Saudi, which is targeting more than 55,000 visitors.
It connects industry leaders and decision-makers and explores urban construction technologies and equipment, smart cities, quality of life, sustainability and modern building practices. More than 25 local and international speakers will share their experience.
SCA Chairman Eng. Zakaria Al-Abdulqader said the event supports Saudi Vision 2030 and the goal of a sustainable contracting sector. He highlighted SCA's mission to regulate and develop the industry, build specialist capabilities and raise standards.
The conference targets project managers, interior designers, public and private owners, general contractors, architectural firms and suppliers, renewable and sustainable energy companies, technology firms, engineering companies, legal and insurance firms, heavy equipment suppliers, transport and infrastructure companies, and developers.
During the ceremony, the minister launched the Alliances platform. It helps contractors find partners and form alliances to deliver projects effectively.
The platform aims to save time and resources when selecting qualified and experienced contractors. It supports several forms of cooperation, including joint ventures, framework alliances and unincorporated consortia.
Contractors can visit Muqawil to join the platform and explore opportunities.
The conference supports SCA's efforts to develop contracting, strengthen skills, address challenges, encourage innovation and improve communication throughout the sector.
