Saudi Contractors Authority Participates in Saudi Delegation Exploring Cooperation Opportunities with Malaysia in the Contracting Sector

As part of efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Malaysia, a high-level Saudi delegation, headed by an Advisor to the Minister of Investment, began an official visit to Malaysia. The visit commenced with a joint meeting with Malaysia’s Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, followed by a series of sector-specific workshops.

During the first workshop dedicated to the contracting sector, the delegation met with Malaysia’s Ministry of Works and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). The Malaysian side extended an official invitation to the Kingdom to participate in “Construction Week,” to be held as part of Expo 2025 in Japan starting on July 12, 2025. The week-long event will focus on contracting companies, construction materials, and the wider building industry.

Malaysia also extended an invitation to participate in the International Construction Week (ICW), scheduled to take place from October 28 to 30, 2025, with the participation of more than 175 companies from nine countries.

In return, the Saudi delegation invited Malaysia to participate in the Future Projects Forum (FPF 2025), organized by the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA). The Malaysian side expressed interest in taking part in the Forum. Both sides also expressed their intention to coordinate bilateral meetings between contracting companies from the two countries to strengthen partnerships and connect Saudi companies with major construction projects.

The delegation also presented investment opportunities available in the Kingdom’s contracting and construction materials sectors. The Malaysian side expressed strong interest in these opportunities and confirmed its intention to share them with specialized Malaysian companies.

The visit concluded with a workshop organized by the Saudi Ministry of Investment on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, with the participation of leading Malaysian companies in the construction and building materials sectors. The workshop featured presentations on key initiatives and opportunities from the Ministry of Investment, the Saudi Contractors Authority, and the Public Investment Fund, along with an open invitation for Malaysian companies to visit the Kingdom and contribute to its unprecedented urban and construction development.
