The visit included a series of meetings with Their Highnesses, officials, and relevant entities to discuss the current state of the sector, review the initiatives and services provided by the Authority to contractors, and explore opportunities to enhance the investment environment and improve the sector’s efficiency in the Eastern Province.
At the beginning of the visit, the Authority’s delegation met with His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Eastern Province. The meeting reviewed the Saudi Contractors Authority’s efforts to develop the sector and its role in enhancing contractors’ efficiency and strengthening their contribution to the implementation of development and strategic projects across the Kingdom.
The meeting also addressed the importance of integration between government entities and the private sector in supporting economic growth and achieving sustainable development in the region.
The delegation also had the honor of meeting His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province. During the meeting, the Authority’s delegation highlighted key initiatives and services aimed at empowering contractors, supporting national enterprises, and raising levels of professionalism and efficiency across the sector. The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in support of development in the Eastern Province.
As part of efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation, the delegation visited the Royal Commission in Jubail in the presence of Eng. Mahmoud bin Saleh Al-Theeb, CEO of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Ras Al-Khair City for Mining Industries. The two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation and integration in supporting development projects and empowering the contracting sector, in addition to reviewing ongoing efforts to enhance the investment environment and improve the quality of project implementation in the region.
The visit also included the Water Academy in Jubail, where the delegation learned about the Academy’s efforts to develop and qualify national talent and reviewed specialized training programs and initiatives that contribute to human capability development and enhance the readiness of national professionals in technical and engineering fields related to the sector.
The Authority’s delegation also held a meeting with members of the Contractors Committee and representatives of the sector at the Asharqia Chamber, in the presence of Mr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Contractors Authority, and Mr. Hamad Al-Hammad, Chairman of the National Contractors Committee. The meeting discussed key challenges and opportunities facing the contracting sector and reviewed a number of development initiatives aimed at improving the business environment, enhancing sector efficiency, and strengthening the competitiveness of national contractors.
The delegation also visited the Eastern Province Development Authority, in the presence of Dr. Talal bin Nabil Al-Maghlouth, CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority. The meeting explored areas of cooperation and joint coordination to support development projects and empower the contracting sector, contributing to economic development and the achievement of the region’s urban development and infrastructure objectives.
The Saudi Contractors Authority affirmed that the visit forms part of its ongoing approach to strengthening strategic partnerships and direct engagement with relevant entities across the Kingdom, while continuing to develop the contracting sector as a key enabler of economic and urban development and an essential contributor to major national projects.
The Authority added that the Eastern Province represents an important economic and development model, given its strategic projects, specialized industries, and national talent, further emphasizing the importance of integration among various entities to create a more efficient and sustainable environment for the contracting sector.
