SCA Launches Contractor Evaluation Initiative

The Saudi Contractors Authority launched its Contractor Evaluation initiative to promote transparency and fair competition in one of the Kingdom's largest non-oil sectors.

Working with relevant organizations, the initiative will build a database of contractor ratings based on precise, reliable criteria. It will help contractors demonstrate their strengths in delivering projects and support better quality across the sector.

An electronic platform will display contractor information and ratings. Government entities, project owners, individuals and other users will be able to review past performance and make better-informed choices.

In the first phase, SCA is collecting evaluations through its Standard Contracts service. Project owners can assess contractors after a contract ends.

The assessment covers quality, schedule, environment, health and safety, value, communication and responsiveness, and compliance with the agreed materials.

The platform also allows citizens and residents to report suspected commercial concealment after completing an evaluation. SCA sees the initiative as a tool for improving and developing the sector.
