Contracting Challenges Conference 2022: Part One

The Saudi Contractors Authority held the first part of its virtual Contracting Sector Challenges Conference on Tuesday morning. Titled “Identifying Challenges,” it aimed to map obstacles across the sector before working with relevant bodies on solutions for the second part.

Participants discussed current and potential challenges throughout the contractor's journey. Topics ranged from registration and qualification to business formation, business development, bidding, project planning, preparation, construction and handover.

The two-part conference supports SCA's role in developing contracting. Contractors use the first part to identify difficulties. SCA then studies these with experts and relevant organizations to present solutions in the second part, scheduled for October 2022.

SCA works to regulate and develop contracting, build productive capabilities and address the challenges and crises facing contractors. It also provides electronic services through Muqawil to support the sector and its workforce.
