Certified Contractors for Self-Build Housing

The Certified Contractor for Self-Build Housing Program was launched at the first-quarter 2021 Sakani Forum in Riyadh. The event was held under the patronage of Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail.

The Saudi Contractors Authority and the National Housing Company jointly deliver the program. It helps citizens using the self-build housing program find qualified contractors more easily.

SCA qualifies participating contractors, who must disclose their construction price range per square meter to beneficiaries.

A dedicated electronic connection transfers qualification information from SCA's system to the National Housing Company's system. Once qualification is complete, beneficiaries can search for contractors through Muqawil.

The ministry-backed program aims to improve quality of life and urban services, verify certified contractors, reduce commercial concealment and encourage competition that delivers better services to citizens.
