The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA), in cooperation with the Federation of Saudi Chambers, has launched an awareness campaign aimed at promoting the use of standard contracts in the contracting sector. The campaign forms part of joint efforts to regulate the sector, enhance transparency, and safeguard the rights of all parties involved in construction projects.

The campaign seeks to encourage contractors and project owners to adopt standard contracts as a unified legal framework for regulating contractual relationships between both parties, particularly in small and medium-sized projects. This contributes to protecting contractual rights, improving project delivery efficiency, and promoting greater market stability.

The Federation of Saudi Chambers stated that the initiative forms part of its efforts to support the sustainability of the contracting sector and enhance the business environment by raising awareness of the importance of adopting modern regulatory practices that strengthen the reliability of commercial transactions in the Saudi market.

For its part, the Saudi Contractors Authority emphasized that standard contracts are among the most important regulatory tools contributing to preventive legal protection and reducing project delays arising from contractual disputes. The Authority noted that adopting these contracts also helps ease the burden on judicial authorities and minimize disputes through standardized contractual terms designed to maintain a fair balance between the parties.

Through the Muqawil platform (www.muqawil.org), the Saudi Contractors Authority provides 36 approved standard contracts that are fully documented electronically, facilitating contracting and payment processes while helping ensure the quality of work in accordance with international best practices.

The campaign forms part of the joint efforts of the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the Saudi Contractors Authority to support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by advancing regulatory frameworks, fostering an enabling business environment, and building a strong and sustainable contracting sector capable of keeping pace with the Kingdom’s ongoing development
